An energy expert says there are basic things the Eskom CEO can do to turn around the crisis at the power utility. Vuslat Bayoglu, the executive chairperson of Canyon Coal says Eskom should not get involved in new investments in gas and nuclear production. But it should rather modernise its coal-fired power stations and focus on maintaining its renewable nuclear energy production. He says the power utility should invest in the maintenance of power plants and avoid short cuts which lead to dire consequences. Bayoglu joins us to talk about what can be done to rescue Eskom and the country from dark times.
