Improving the lives of communities in which Menar has operations through job creation, skills programmes and enterprise development is important to us. In collaboration with local authorities and as part of Social Labour Plan (SLP) commitments, our group of companies provides community members with bursaries, learnerships and internships.
Social Licensing Department
The social licencing department is tasked with crafting Social and Labour Plans (SLP) that are relevant to the developmental needs of our communities. The Menar social licencing team works closely with the group human resources department and our procurement division to ensure that communities access jobs and business opportunities.
Community Upliftment
Our community outreach programmes align with the global agenda to reduce poverty, inequality and unemployment. The construction of new homes, bridges, community halls, ablution facilities and special needs centres are amongst the many community upliftment projects we have initiated.
Enterprise Development
We appreciate the valuable role played by small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in supporting economic growth. This is why projects aimed at supporting local businesses are embedded in the corporate culture of all the companies under the Menar Group.
Education
Menar believes that upskilling people will go a long way in advancing our economic growth. We provide support through bursaries, learnerships, internships and skills development programmes. These are meant to benefit community members and employees.
