Control and Instrumentation Specialist

The company would like to recruit a Control and Instrumentation Specialist that will be based at a site in Meyerton.

The purpose of this position is to maintain and assist in the instrumentation and production networks, training and upgrading.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Integrate and coordinate engineering and technical maintenance plans and drawings.

  • Install, commission and splice various Fiber cables.

  • Fault find and maintain weighbridge systems.

  • Install, calibrate and maintain various field instruments like temperature, pressure,

  • Level, flow and density transmitters and valves.

  • Must be able to liaise with procurement department and assist with technical aspects.

  • Must be able to work with your hands, fabricate, install and maintain.

  • Must be able to interpret electrical and C&I drawings.

  • Perform administrative duties to ensure accurate records and availability, budget compliance and spares availability.

  • Comply with established communication channels and enhance when required.

  • Must be able to draft SOP, COP, WI, PTO from time to time to ensure safety and standards are maintained to the highest standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma in Engineering Studies N4, Trade test

  • Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1

  • Own transport to attend to call outs

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as an Engineering Supervisor

  • English language proficiency

  • Multiple industries experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as radiation protection officer

  • Time management skills

  • Supervisory training

  • Adaptability to Multiple system changes

  • Good background siemens / Wonderware Scada systems would be an advantage

  • Multiple PLC programming and development knowledge

  • Good network installation, design, fault finding and maintenance skill sets

  • Must be able to work at heights

  • Must be able to coordinate and work hand in hand with IT department

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces

  • Ensure availability during standby duties according to schedule

  • Must be willing to work long hours from time to time during shutdowns, projects and breakdowns

  • Computer literate and highly competent in using MS Office Suite

  • Must have good communication skills
