Group Processing Manager

JOB PURPOSE

A fast-growing Mining Group is currently looking to employ a Group Processing Manager with previous mining processing exposure. The successful incumbent will be responsible for all processing matters in the Group for both commodities – coal and manganese.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all mineral processing activities (operations, maintenance, metallurgy and laboratory) whilst respecting the corporate objectives

  • Ensure that production, recovery, maintenance and cost objectives are met whilst respecting environmental, health and safety rules

  • Prepare monthly processing plans and budgets in accordance with site specific washability information and according to the marketing plan

  • Prepares annual operating plans and budgets as well as monthly forecasts

  • Assures compliance with health, safety and environmental standards

  • Put in place all the necessary measures for the continues improvements of process plants

  • Work closely with all mine services, including mining operations, mining engineering and mining geology

  • Produce reports, as and when required

  • Set and implement clear objectives for direct reports

  • Implement KPI’s to measure the performance of all contractors within the process plants as well as the filter press plants

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B Sc Degree in Metallurgical or chemical engineering

  • At least 10 year’s sound experience in a similar position in mining industry

  • Demonstrate coaching and mentoring skills

  • Detailed knowledge of all phases of coal and manganese processing

  • Able to work independently, as well as be an effective member of Exco

  • Excellent communication, presentation and people skills

  • Must be able to travel
