Group Processing Manager
JOB PURPOSE
A fast-growing Mining Group is currently looking to employ a Group Processing Manager with previous mining processing exposure. The successful incumbent will be responsible for all processing matters in the Group for both commodities – coal and manganese.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all mineral processing activities (operations, maintenance, metallurgy and laboratory) whilst respecting the corporate objectives
Ensure that production, recovery, maintenance and cost objectives are met whilst respecting environmental, health and safety rules
Prepare monthly processing plans and budgets in accordance with site specific washability information and according to the marketing plan
Prepares annual operating plans and budgets as well as monthly forecasts
Assures compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
Put in place all the necessary measures for the continues improvements of process plants
Work closely with all mine services, including mining operations, mining engineering and mining geology
Produce reports, as and when required
Set and implement clear objectives for direct reports
Implement KPI’s to measure the performance of all contractors within the process plants as well as the filter press plants
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
B Sc Degree in Metallurgical or chemical engineering
At least 10 year’s sound experience in a similar position in mining industry
Demonstrate coaching and mentoring skills
Detailed knowledge of all phases of coal and manganese processing
Able to work independently, as well as be an effective member of Exco
Excellent communication, presentation and people skills
Must be able to travel
