Port Logistics Controller
A mid-tier mining group is looking to recruit a dynamic, well-experienced Port Logistics Controller to join the team. The successful incumbent will be based in Richards Bay, KZN.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate with Head office, contractors and port agents regarding port plans.
Reconcile RMT and train transfers to port from the Mining Group.
Reconcile and oversee stocks transfers in port and stock transfers to staging and loading areas for vessel loading.
Manage and oversee the use and efficiency of third-party port assets, stockpile management, labelling and scanning process.
Ensure the correct product is loaded.
Oversight of SGS sampling procedure during offloading of trains and RMT’s, as well as during the shifting of Cargo and loading of vessel.
Communicate and propose improvements in operational efficiencies.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Logistics/Supply Chain Degree or similar qualification
At least 5 years cargo and stockpile management experience at a port.
Must be computer literate, excellent Excel skills advantageous.
Good writing, reporting and verbal communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver’s license.
Must be willing to travel to port after hours on and as and when required basis. Furthermore, must be willing to travel to others ports in South Africa and Maputo.
